Welcome! The MLWGS Band Program provides a comprehensive, four-year instrumental performance education to students. All band students at MLWGS perform in one of two concert bands and/or percussion ensemble. Comprising of about 90 students, one in eight students at Maggie Walker participate in the band.

The Maggie Walker Band Program has been under the baton of Nick Merillat for 8 years. We are proud of the following accomplishments:
- 2025 VBODA Honor Band
- Superior Ratings regularly at concert and jazz assessment
- Consistently having students accepted into District Band
- Regularly having student eligibility and participation in All-Virginia Band and Orchestra
- Students receiving superior ratings at district Solo and Ensemble (hosted at MLWGS)
