Parent Booster Groups
MLWGS has a wonderful group of very supportive parents. These parent groups help advocate for our Visual & Performing Arts programs, raise funds, and provide support for events and performances. Please consider joining.
Drama Boosters
The MLWGS Drama Boosters are parents, faculty, and community members who want to support the MLWGS Drama program. The Boosters assist the MLWGS Drama program with fall and spring drama productions and student-directed one-act plays.
The Boosters help with a range of drama tasks, including the coordination of set building, the organization of meals during drama production tech weeks, and the sales of tickets, concessions and fan-o-grams on performance days. The Drama Boosters also provide funds for major improvements and incidentals not covered by other school funds. Recent improvements funded by the Boosters include the purchase of new wireless microphones, headsets, and portable lighting. |
Music Boosters
The Music Boosters provide essential support and resources to enhance the experience of every music student. Donations fund new musical instruments, sheet music, professional clinicians, guest performances, honors ensembles, field trips, recording and education technology, facility enhancements, concert attire, and special awards. Donors are recognized in the Winter and Spring Concert programs.

Visual Arts Boosters
The Visual Arts Boosters (VAB) provide financial and other support for the visual arts programs at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School. Fundraising and other support efforts help to provide students with specialized materials and equipment and unique opportunities for further exploration of art, our local art community, and art-related careers. Field trips, guest artists, a lecture series, exhibits, awards, domestic and international travel, and other unique experiences are all supported by the VAB.
